Memecoin tools this week, in short: Pump.fun changed how it pays callers twice, Arkham's wallet labels arrived in Terminal by Pump.fun, and the goodcryptoX bot app shut down on October 9. A Coin Metrics study also showed that 81% of the Solana memecoins it tracked lost 90% or more from their peak.

Pump.fun ties callout rewards to followers' profits (Oct 4 and Oct 10)

Pump.fun changed its Callout Rewards program twice in under a week. On October 4, it scaled back rewards for users who post callouts at high frequency. Then, from the October 10 payout, rewards follow whether followers made a profit on a call, not how much volume the call created, and calls on low-cap tokens earn less. Co-founder Alon announced the second change on X, Crypto Briefing reported (opens in a new tab) on October 10. The same report says the program started around August 2026, pays daily in USDC, and that Pump.fun can change the payout method without notice.

Why it matters for traders: callers now have less reason to spam calls on tiny tokens just to create volume. A call is still not research. Check the dev wallet, the holders and the bonding curve before you follow anyone. Our Pump.fun guide explains how launches and graduation work.

Coin Metrics: 81% of Solana memecoins fell 90% or more (Oct 6)

Coin Metrics published "The Death and Life of the Average Memecoin" in its State of the Network report (opens in a new tab) on October 6. In a sample of 150 Solana memecoins launched since December 2023, 81% fell at least 90% from their all-time high, and only 5 (3.3%) got back to it. The median token peaked 17.2 days after trading started and reached a 95% drawdown a median of 370 days after its peak.

Why it matters for traders: the sample only includes tokens with a price on a centralized exchange, so the author says it likely overstates how long a typical launchpad coin lasts. For most memecoins, the peak comes early and does not come back. Plan your exit before you buy, use limit orders, and read our guide on how to spot a rug pull.

Arkham wallet labels arrive in Terminal by Pump.fun (Oct 8)

On October 8, Arkham announced on X (opens in a new tab) that its labels are now built into Terminal, the trading terminal Pump.fun bought from Padre in October 2025. The dataset covers more than 3.1 billion labeled addresses and aims to show who is behind wallets and fund flows, CoinGabbar reported (opens in a new tab) on October 9. We found only this one write-up. The label count comes from that report, and we could not open the X post itself.

Why it matters for traders: labels make it faster to see when an exchange, a fund or a known whale buys or sells a token you hold. A label is an estimate, not proof, and an unlabeled wallet can still be an insider. See our Padre (Terminal) review for fees, chains and wallet safety.

goodcryptoX shuts down (Oct 9)

goodcryptoX, a trading bot app with built-in wallets, stopped operating on October 9, 2026. In its shutdown post (opens in a new tab), dated September 17, the team says the reason is financial: revenue no longer covered costs. Wind-down and recovery support by email and Telegram continues until November 8, 2026. The team asked users to withdraw assets from built-in wallets before the shutdown, and Solana users could also export the private key.

Why it matters for traders: if you still have funds tied to goodcryptoX, contact its official support before November 8. The team says it will never message you privately to ask for private keys, seed phrases or wallet passwords, so treat any such message as a scam. For any bot, export your private key on day one and keep only trading money in it. Compare live options in our best Telegram trading bots hub.

Pump.fun earns $18.64M in a week despite the slump (Oct 9)

DefiLlama data from October 9 put Pump.fun's protocol revenue at $18.64 million for the past seven days and $60.7 million for 30 days, Cointribune reported (opens in a new tab). Pump.fun's own newsletter gave $16.32 million in protocol fees for September 28 to October 4. The same report says Pump.fun has spent $478 million on PUMP buybacks, with 50% of revenue going to buybacks and burns.

Why it matters for traders: launch activity on Solana is still high even while prices fall. More launches means more choice, but also more coins that never graduate. Check whether Pump.fun is safe and what your trading tool charges with our fee calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Two things. On October 4, Pump.fun reduced rewards for users who post callouts at high frequency. From the October 10 payout, rewards follow whether followers made a profit on the call, not the trading volume the call created, and calls on low-cap tokens earn less.
