Key takeaways

  • To export a private key in the Phantom app, open Settings, then Manage Accounts, tap the account’s three dots and choose Show Private Key. Google or Apple wallets have no such option: back up the recovery phrase.
  • BasedBot, pump.fun and Fomo let you export the private key, and Axiom shows your recovery phrase in settings. GMGN’s docs say key export is prohibited on all chains, also for imported wallets.
  • Anyone with your private key controls the wallet. Phantom and BasedBot both say their support never asks for it, so store the key offline and never paste it into a chat.

Step by step

Steps checked October 14, 2026 against the official docs.

Phantom

  1. 1

    Open Manage Accounts

In the app, tap your profile avatar, then Settings › Manage Accounts. In the browser extension, click your avatar, then Manage Accounts (Phantom help (opens in a new tab)).
  2. 2

    Show the private key

In the app, tap the three dots next to the account, then Show Private Key. In the extension, click the account, then Show Private Key. Choose a network, then copy the key (Phantom help (opens in a new tab)).

pump.fun and Fomo

  1. 1

Export the key in the app

Both apps make a Privy wallet (pump.fun docs (opens in a new tab), Fomo terms (opens in a new tab), section 6). Sign in, find the export wallet option and copy the private key (Phantom help (opens in a new tab)). Neither app documents the menu path, so check in app. Fomo asks for FaceID before an export (Fomo security (opens in a new tab)).
  2. 2

    Import the key into Phantom

With no Phantom wallet yet, import the key from the welcome screen. With a wallet, import it as an extra account (Phantom help (opens in a new tab)).

BasedBot

  1. 1

    Log in with Telegram

Open basedbot.app and choose Connect with Telegram. A wallet login makes a separate account without your bot wallets (BasedBot docs (opens in a new tab)).
  2. 2

    Export the key

On the Portfolio page, open the Wallets panel, tap the wallet, then Export Key (BasedBot docs (opens in a new tab)).

Axiom and GMGN

Axiom shows your recovery phrase at sign-up, and its sign-up guide (opens in a new tab) says you can access it any time in settings. It suggests that you import the phrase into Phantom, Rabby or Solflare. GMGN’s wallet docs (opens in a new tab) say private key export is prohibited on all chains, also for imported wallets. To move funds out of GMGN, withdraw them on the GMGN website.

Bottom line
