Key takeaways

  • To make a meme coin, use a launchpad such as pump.fun: sign in, add a little SOL, enter a name, a ticker and an image, pick a SOL or USDC pair, and confirm. You need no code.
  • Creating a coin costs very little: pump.fun charges no platform fee, only Solana network costs, and four.meme’s docs give a transaction fee of about 0.005 BNB.
  • Most new coins never graduate: The Block reported a pump.fun graduation rate of 2.5% in one week of July 2026 and 6.7% on one day later that month.

To make a meme coin, you create it on a launchpad: you enter a name, a ticker and an image, then confirm one transaction. You need no code. On pump.fun, the Solana launchpad, creating a coin has no platform fee, only Solana network costs.

How it works

A launchpad makes the token for you and opens trading at once. On pump.fun and four.meme, a new coin trades on a bonding curve: each buy raises the price, and each sell lowers it. You do not need to add your own liquidity.

When buyers fill the curve, the coin goes through graduation and moves to a normal DEX pool. A pump.fun coin moves to PumpSwap for a 0.015 SOL migration fee (pump.fun fee page (opens in a new tab)).

How to make a coin on pump.fun

  1. 1

    Sign in to pump.fun

Open pump.fun on the web or in the iOS or Android app (Decrypt report (opens in a new tab)). Since 25 September 2026, you sign in with an email, Google, Apple or GitHub account, and pump.fun creates a Solana wallet for you (pump.fun login notice (opens in a new tab)).
  2. 2

    Add a little SOL

Deposit SOL into your pump.fun wallet. The launch costs only the Solana network fee and a small SOL deposit for the token’s accounts. The exact amount: check in app.
  3. 3

    Enter the coin details

Open the create form. Type the coin name and the ticker, and add an image or a short video. The description, social links and banner are optional.
  4. 4

Pick the pair and the rewards

Choose SOL or USDC as the pool pair, and send the creator rewards to you or to the holders. Check the name, the ticker and the pair first. The form warns: “Choose carefully, these can’t be changed once the coin is created.”
  5. 5

    Confirm and share

Confirm the transaction. Your coin trades on the bonding curve at once. The creator rewards, 0.30% of each trade on the curve, go to you or to the holders (pump.fun fees (opens in a new tab)). Our pump.fun fee breakdown covers the fees after graduation.

How to launch a meme coin on four.meme

Four.meme is the same idea on BNB Chain. Per its how it works page (opens in a new tab), you set the name, ticker, description, logo and socials, then pick the pair: BNB, USDT, USD1, UUSD or bStocks. Every coin has a supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens.

At about 18 BNB on the curve, four.meme pairs 20% of the supply with the raised funds on PancakeSwap. Read the full four.meme guide.

How to create a meme coin on Base

Base has its own launchpads, such as Clanker, Flaunch and Zora. Clanker calls itself “a token deployment protocol on Base, Arbitrum, and other EVM chains” (Clanker docs (opens in a new tab)). Each launchpad has its own form and fees: check in app. Our Base memecoins guide lists the main ones.

What to do next

Bottom line

Making a meme coin is fast and cheap: pump.fun charges no platform fee, and a four.meme launch costs about 0.005 BNB in transaction fees. Getting buyers is the hard part. The Block reported a pump.fun graduation rate of 2.5% in one week of July 2026 and 6.7% on one day later that month (The Block (opens in a new tab)), so most new coins never leave the curve.
