- Axiom wins on trading tools, published fees and small Solana trades.
- Fomo wins on ease of use, Apple Pay funding, gasless trades and larger trades.
Fees
Axiom publishes a tier table. According to the Axiom fee page, the net fee is 0.95% at the entry tier (Wood) and 0.75% at the top tier (Champion), with SOL cashback from 0.05% to 0.25%. On Solana you also pay a priority fee and a bribe, according to the Axiom Solana fees page. The Axiom referral page says users who sign up with a referral link get 10% off trading fees.
Fomo does not publish a fee table. TechCrunch reported a 0.50% fee per trade, a $0.95 minimum on Solana and no minimum on Base and BNB Chain, and said Fomo pays the gas. Fomo's terms say the app shows the fee before you confirm and can change it. Fomo's in-app invite message says friends get 10% off fees.
Fee example on Solana
This is simple math on the published and reported fees, before the referral discounts. Axiom is at the Wood tier. Axiom's network fees are not included; Fomo pays the gas.
| Trade size | Axiom (0.95%) | Fomo (0.5%, $0.95 minimum) | Cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|
| $20 | $0.19 | $0.95 | Axiom |
| $100 | $0.95 | $0.95 | Same |
| $190 | $1.81 | $0.95 | Fomo |
| $500 | $4.75 | $2.50 | Fomo |
- Break-even: on Solana, the two fees are equal at about $100 per trade. Below it, Fomo's minimum makes Axiom cheaper. Above it, Fomo's lower rate wins.
- On Base and BNB Chain: TechCrunch reported no Fomo minimum, so Fomo's 0.5% is lower than Axiom's 0.95% at every trade size.
- With both codes: 10% off gives about 0.855% on Axiom Wood and about 0.45% on Fomo. We do not know if Fomo's discount also lowers the $0.95 minimum. Check in app.

Chains
- Axiom: the referral docs list Solana, BSC (BNB Chain) and Ethereum. You can also trade perps on Hyperliquid.
- Fomo: TechCrunch named Solana, Base and BNB Chain, traded from one balance without bridges. Fomo's terms describe perps through Hyperliquid, not available to U.S. persons.
If you trade Base memecoins, Fomo covers them and Axiom does not. If you trade Ethereum memecoins, Axiom covers them. On Solana, both work, including pump.fun coins.
Custody, key export and funding
Wallet control
- Axiom: the Axiom FAQ says it uses non-custodial infrastructure from Turnkey. The sign-up guide shows your seed phrase during onboarding and in Settings, and you can import it into Phantom, Rabby or Solflare.
- Fomo: the Fomo terms say Privy, a third-party provider, generates and manages your wallet, that the wallet is non-custodial, and that you can view and export your private keys.
On both, you can move your funds to another wallet without the platform. Export your key or seed phrase on day one and store it offline.
Putting money in
- Axiom: the Axiom Buy Crypto page says you buy SOL through Coinbase from the Deposit menu, up to $500 without KYC. The page does not list payment methods or fees. You can also send SOL from another wallet or exchange.
- Fomo: fomo.family says you can fund trades with Apple Pay. Because Fomo pays the gas, you do not need SOL or ETH for network fees.
For a first buy with card money, Fomo has fewer steps. If you already hold SOL, both are easy. Our guide on how to buy memecoins explains each path.

Safety and incidents
- Axiom, February 2026: on 26 February 2026, investigator ZachXBT alleged that Axiom employees took part in insider trading. He named a senior business development employee who, he said, used internal support tools to look up user wallets. Axiom said it removed access to those tools and would investigate. Sources: Decrypt, The Block. We found no public result of the investigation and no hack that drained user funds.
- Fomo, August 2026: on 24 August 2026, an X account alleged that an iOS app update caused about $6M in user losses, and cited a wallet that lost 662 SOL. Co-founder Prashan Dharmasena said the claim was false. Protos confirmed that the 662 SOL moved but found no independent proof of an exploit. We found no independent investigation or public result.
What this means for you: Axiom's issue is about privacy (who can see your wallets). Fomo's issue is an unproven loss claim. Neither is settled, so keep only trading money in either app and check every token yourself. Read our rug pull guide and is pump.fun safe.
