Padre is now Terminal by Pump.fun
If you search for "padre terminal vs axiom", you compare Axiom with a product that changed owner and name. Pump.fun announced that it bought Padre, and Cointelegraph (opens in a new tab) dates the deal to 24 October 2025. On 5 November 2025, Phemex News (opens in a new tab) reported the rename to Terminal. The app still runs at trade.padre.gg and at terminal.pump.fun (opens in a new tab). In February 2026, Pump.fun also bought the Vyper terminal and directed its users to Terminal.
Axiom has no such owner. According to The Block (opens in a new tab), it was founded in 2024 and joined Y Combinator's Winter 2025 batch.
What this means for you: Terminal is Pump.fun's own trading app, with Trenches, a view for Pump.fun tokens. Axiom is a separate company that lists Pump.fun tokens among many others.
Fees
Axiom publishes its fees. The Axiom fee page (opens in a new tab) lists a 0.95% net fee at the Wood tier, down to 0.75% at the Champion tier, with SOL cashback from 0.05% to 0.25%. The referral program page (opens in a new tab) says new users who sign up with a referral link get 10% off trading fees. See the Axiom referral code page.
Terminal does not publish its base fee in the docs we could open. Check it in the app before your first trade. The docs publish the cashback, paid in SOL:
- Default: 10% of your trading fees, according to the June 2025 rewards page (opens in a new tab).
- With any referral link: 35% of your trading fees, according to the referral program page (opens in a new tab).
- Our link: it has no code, so the docs suggest you get the default rate.
| Example: 50 trades of 1 SOL | Fee paid |
|---|---|
| Axiom, Wood tier (0.95%) | 0.475 SOL |
| Axiom, Wood tier with code gurumeme (about 0.855%) | about 0.43 SOL |
| Axiom, Champion tier (0.75%) | 0.375 SOL |
| Terminal | Check in app: the base fee is not published |
This is simple math on the published rates. Priority fees, Jito tips and bribes are extra on both. Run your own numbers in our fee calculator.
Chains
- Terminal: Solana, Ethereum, Base and BNB Chain, with market and limit orders on all four, according to the archived About Terminal page (opens in a new tab).
- Axiom: Solana, BSC and Ethereum, according to its referral docs (opens in a new tab), plus perps through Hyperliquid (opens in a new tab).
If you trade Base memecoins, only Terminal covers them. If you want perps next to spot trading, only Axiom offers them in its docs.

Safety and incidents
- Custody: both are self-custody wallets on Turnkey infrastructure. See Terminal's archived security page (opens in a new tab) and Axiom's FAQ (opens in a new tab).
- Key access: Axiom's sign-up guide (opens in a new tab) shows your seed phrase at onboarding and again in Settings. Terminal encrypts your private keys with a password you set. Its FAQ (opens in a new tab) says the team cannot recover a lost password, so export your keys before you deposit.
- Axiom, February 2026: investigator ZachXBT alleged that Axiom employees took part in insider trading and that one staff member used internal support tools to look up user wallets. Axiom said it removed access to those tools and would investigate. Sources: Decrypt (opens in a new tab), The Block (opens in a new tab). We found no public report of the result.
- Padre, October 2025: at the acquisition, Pump.fun said the PADRE token would no longer have utility on the platform. Two days later, Pump.fun promised holders PUMP tokens of equal value, and by 28 October PADRE was down 67%, according to DL News (opens in a new tab). This hit token holders, not trading wallets.
- Hacks: we found no report of a hack or exploit that drained user funds at either terminal.
What this means for you: the wallet design is similar. Axiom's risk is about staff access to wallet data. Terminal's risk is mainly a lost password and the fee you cannot check before you sign up.
