Fees
BONKbot charges "1% fees on each successful swap transaction", according to its fee structure page (opens in a new tab). Setup is free. The page names no cashback for Telegram users. Cashback of 5% (Iron) to 25% (Platinum III) applies only to trades on Telemetry, the BONKbot team's terminal (cashback tiers (opens in a new tab)).
Trojan charges 1% per successful trade. The Telegram bot FAQ (opens in a new tab) says Trojan users get 20% cashback on every trade. On the web terminal, the Ranks and Rewards page (opens in a new tab) lists 10% to 35% cashback by Arena rank. See the Trojan referral code page.
| Setup | Effective fee | Fee on 50 trades of 1 SOL |
|---|---|---|
| BONKbot Telegram bot (no cashback) | 1% | 0.5 SOL |
| BONKbot on Telemetry, Iron (5%) | 0.95% | 0.475 SOL |
| Trojan web, Degen rank (10%) | 0.9% | 0.45 SOL |
| Trojan Telegram bot (20%) | 0.8% | 0.4 SOL |
| BONKbot on Telemetry, Platinum III (25%) | 0.75% | 0.375 SOL |
| Trojan web, Titan rank (35%) | 0.65% | 0.325 SOL |
This is simple math on the published rates. Priority fees and Jito tips are extra on both. Run your own numbers in our fee calculator.
Referral rewards and decay
Neither bot publishes a fee discount for a new user who signs up with a link. The difference is what the referrer earns:
- BONKbot: the referral page (opens in a new tab) says Telegram referral links pay "30% revenue share in the first month, 20% in the second and 10% lifetime". On Telemetry, the share is a flat 30%.
- Trojan: the referrer earns up to 35% across 5 referral layers in the Telegram bot (Rewards Program (opens in a new tab)), and 27.5% (Honors I) to 47.5% (Honors IV) on the web terminal (Referral System (opens in a new tab)). Users keep their own cashback in both cases.
For a trader, this does not change the fee you pay. It explains why many Telegram groups push one bot over the other.

Sniping in detail
- Trojan: the Sniper docs (opens in a new tab) describe an Auto Sniper with filters for platform, mint and freeze authority, socials, whitelists and blacklists (also for dev wallets), min and max liquidity, pool supply, launch cost and dev holdings. A Max Snipes setting pauses the setup after a set number of snipes. The Migration Sniper buys or sells when a token moves from the bonding curve to the pool, at graduation. The docs suggest a 20/80 split between priority fee and tip, for example 0.02 SOL plus 0.08 SOL.
- BONKbot: the Nighthawk (opens in a new tab) sniper takes a pump.fun contract address or a Meteora pool ID, with Precision and Speed modes. Auto Buy (opens in a new tab) buys as soon as you paste a contract address, with no warning.
For rule-based sniping of new launches, Trojan gives you more filters. For quick manual buys, BONKbot's paste-and-buy flow is simpler. See more options in the best sniper bots.
Safety and incidents
- Custody: both are self-custody. BONKbot says its Signer (opens in a new tab) seals your key in a secure environment that no one, including BONKbot, can view or extract. Trojan's terminal FAQ (opens in a new tab) says it does not store or control your funds or private keys.
- Extra locks: BONKbot supports 2FA (opens in a new tab) for withdrawals and private key exports. Trojan's bot has a Secure Action Password (opens in a new tab) for sensitive actions and Sell Protection (opens in a new tab), which asks you to confirm before you sell more than 75% of your token balance.
- BONKbot, March 2024: about 2,808 SOL (about $523,000 at the time) was drained from 302 wallets. BONKbot said its 113 affected users had all exported their private keys and imported them into another app, which it did not name, and that the bot itself was safe, according to Decrypt (opens in a new tab). The lesson: do not import an exported bot key into an app you have not checked.
- Trojan: we found no public report of a hack or loss of user funds at Trojan itself. The Unibot router exploit of October 2023 (opens in a new tab) hit a new Unibot router before the split and before the Trojan name. Unibot said user keys were safe and promised compensation.
- Team: Decrypt describes BONKbot as an app from the team behind the BONK memecoin. Trojan's team is pseudonymous, and its docs do not name a company.
The bot is only one part of the risk. Most losses come from the tokens. Read our rug pull guide and is pump.fun safe? before you snipe.
Track record
- BONKbot: active since 2023. On 25 December 2023 it handled $68.1 million of a total $72.8 million in trading volume over 24 hours, according to ForkLog (opens in a new tab).
- Trojan: it started as Unibot on Solana. On 11 March 2024 the Solana team split from the Unibot Ethereum developers and said it would rebrand, according to DL News (opens in a new tab). The bot now runs as Trojan.
BONKbot has the longer history under one name.
