Key takeaways
- BasedBot is the best memecoin sniper bot on our scores (4.6), ahead of Trojan (4.1), Axiom (4.0) and GMGN (3.5). Locke works with BasedBot; it is scored with the same methodology.
- All four tools can snipe, but in different ways: BasedBot and Trojan auto-buy new launches, while Axiom and GMGN document migration snipes when a token moves from the bonding curve to a DEX.
- Trojan's sniper docs suggest a 20% priority fee and 80% tip split, for example 0.02 SOL priority fee plus 0.08 SOL tip on a 0.1 SOL total.
- Sniping has a structural risk: a Pine Analytics study (April 2025) found over 15,000 pump.fun tokens sniped at launch by wallets linked to the deployer in about one month.
- Only BasedBot was tested hands-on; the Trojan, Axiom and GMGN sniping features come from their official docs, checked on 11 October 2026.

Sniping features compared
Not every "sniper" does the same job. Some auto-buy brand-new launches. Others wait for a token to migrate from its bonding curve to a DEX and buy at that moment.
| Tool | New-launch auto-buy | Migration snipe | MEV protection | Chains | Fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BasedBot | Yes (tested) | Not documented; pump.fun launches supported | Built in | 8+ chains | 1%, 10–50% cashback with our link |

| Axiom | Not in the docs | Yes, buy or sell on migration | Off, Reduced or Secure | Solana, BSC, Ethereum | 0.95% to 0.75% |

What each tool can snipe
- BasedBot: auto-buys on new launches, tested by us, plus pump.fun launch support and built-in MEV protection. It works on Base, Solana, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche and more. See the BasedBot review and the BasedBot referral code.
- Trojan: the Sniper docs describe an Auto Sniper with filters for platform, mint and freeze authority, socials, dev wallets, liquidity, pool supply and dev holdings, and a Max Snipes cap. A separate Migration Sniper buys or sells when liquidity moves from the bonding curve to the pool. See the Trojan review.
- Axiom: Migration Actions buy a token the moment it migrates from pump.fun, or sell it if it turns out to be a fake. The docs still name Raydium as the destination, but pump.fun now migrates tokens to its own DEX, PumpSwap. The docs list no auto-sniper for brand-new launches. See the Axiom review.
- GMGN: Migrated Snipe auto-buys a Solana token when the DEX adds official liquidity, with trailing take profit, trailing stop loss and anti-MEV. You can create one task per token, and only before migration. See the GMGN review.
What is a sniper bot?
A sniper bot is a trading bot that buys a token automatically in the first block or seconds after it becomes tradable. People use the words "crypto sniper bot", "Solana sniper bot" and "memecoin sniper" for the same idea. The goal is to buy before the price moves, then sell into the first wave of buyers.
There are two main types:
- Launch snipers buy a token when it is created or when its first pool opens.
- Migration snipers buy when a token on a launchpad such as pump.fun completes its bonding curve and moves to a DEX.
How sniping works
- 1
Launch detection
The bot watches the chain for new tokens, new pools or migrations. Filters remove tokens that fail your rules, for example a token where the creator can still mint more supply or freeze your tokens.
- 2
Priority fees and tips
The bot sends the buy with a priority fee and, on Solana, often a tip to a block builder such as Jito. Jito's docs say bundles compete on tips, and a bundle with a low tip might not be selected. Trojan's sniper docs suggest a 20% priority fee and 80% tip split.
- 3
MEV protection
A public buy with high slippage is an easy target for a sandwich attack. MEV protection sends your transaction through a private route. It costs a little speed: GMGN and Axiom both say their protected mode can be slower.
- 4
Auto-sell
Good sniper bots attach a take profit and stop loss right after the buy, because the first minutes of a memecoin are the most volatile.
Risks of sniping memecoins
- Rug pulls: many new tokens are created to dump on early buyers. A fast buy only gets you into a bad token faster. Read how rug pulls work.
- Honeypots: some tokens, mostly on EVM chains, let you buy but block or tax your sell. Check the contract or test with a small amount first.
- Losing to bundlers: a token creator can buy a big part of the supply in the same block as the launch, with a Jito bundle of up to five transactions, per Jito's docs. A Pine Analytics report from April 2025 found over 15,000 pump.fun tokens sniped at launch by a wallet that had exchanged SOL with the deployer (about 1.75% of launch activity, from mid-March 2025), and 87% of those snipes were profitable. You buy after them, so you can become their exit liquidity.
- Tip wars: other snipers pay higher tips. If you raise your tip on every trade, fees can eat your profit.
- Runaway snipes: a popular ticker can trigger many buys. Trojan's docs warn that extra snipes can land before the Max Snipes cap pauses the setup.
- Fake bots: fake sniper bots on Telegram steal wallets. Open every tool from our official links.
How to choose a sniper bot
- Launch or migration: if you want the first block, pick a launch sniper (BasedBot, Trojan). If you want to buy only tokens that complete the bonding curve, a migration snipe (Trojan, Axiom, GMGN) is a stricter filter.
- Filters: look for mint and freeze authority checks, dev holding limits and liquidity limits. Trojan documents the widest filter set on this list.
- Chains: for Solana only, all four work. For Base, BNB Chain or Ethereum launches, BasedBot covers more chains in one bot.
- Custody: BasedBot, Trojan and Axiom let you export your key or seed phrase. GMGN's docs say you cannot export the private key.
- Total cost: the 1% fee is similar everywhere. Cashback and your tip size change the real cost more. See the fee tables in best memecoin trading platforms.

What we left out and why
- Fomo: our Fomo review found no sniping or migration snipe feature on its public pages. It is a social trading app, not a sniper bot.
- Photon and other bots: we have not reviewed them yet. We rank a tool only after its full review is live. To compare terminals, read Axiom vs Photon and Axiom vs GMGN.
