Research review: based on official docs and public data. Our hands-on test is pending, and this page will be updated after it.
Key takeaways
- BONKbot charges a flat 1% fee on each successful swap; setup is free, and Solana network fees are extra.
- BONKbot says your private key is sealed in a secure environment that its staff cannot access, with 2FA for withdrawals and seed phrase exports.
- In March 2024, about 2,808 SOL was drained from 302 wallets; BONKbot said its 113 affected users had exported their keys into another app.
- BONKbot is Solana only. Its team also runs Telemetry, a trading terminal where volume tiers return 5% to 25% of fees as cashback.
- We have no referral deal with BONKbot and earn nothing when you use it.
Our verdict
Is it safe? Probably, with normal care. BONKbot says it cannot see your private key and adds 2FA on withdrawals and key exports; the March 2024 drains hit users who had imported their exported keys into another app.
Best for: Solana traders who want a simple, proven Telegram bot with limit orders, DCA and 2FA

What we like
- The original Solana Telegram trading bot, active since 2023
- Simple flow: send SOL, paste a contract address or a pump.fun or DEX Screener link, buy
- The Signer: keys sealed in a secure environment, 2FA for withdrawals and seed phrase exports
- Limit orders, trailing stop loss, DCA and the Nighthawk sniper for pump.fun and Meteora
- Jito-based MEV protection with Turbo and Secure modes
What we don't like
- Flat 1% fee per swap; volume cashback applies only when you trade on Telemetry
- Solana only
- Many fake bots copy the name, so you must check the handle
- No copy trading in the BONKbot Telegram docs
Our BONKbot review in short: BONKbot is the original Solana Telegram trading bot. It charges a flat 1% fee per swap and protects keys with its Signer system and 2FA. We rate it 3.9/5 from research, not a hands-on test. We have no referral deal with BONKbot and earn nothing if you use it.
BONKbot in one paragraph
BONKbot is a Telegram bot to buy and sell Solana tokens. Its official site calls it "the original, most popular trading bot on Solana" and says routing runs through Jupiter plus its own logic. Decrypt describes it as an app from the team behind the BONK memecoin. It was already busy in 2023: on 25 December 2023 it handled $68.1 million of $72.8 million in daily bot volume, according to ForkLog. The same docs also cover Telemetry, a trading terminal from the BONKbot team.
Fees
| Item | Cost | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Swap fee (Telegram bot) | 1% per successful swap | BONKbot fee structure |
| Setup and use | Free | BONKbot fee structure |
| Cashback on Telemetry | 5% (Iron) to 25% (Platinum III) of fees | Cashback tiers |
| Network costs | Priority fee and Jito tip, set by you | Transaction priority, MEV protection |
- Cashback is for Telemetry: the fee page says you get part of your fees back as rewards "when trading using Telemetry". Tiers use your trailing volume plus your direct referrals' volume, and your own volume gets a 5x multiplier.
- No referee discount: the referral page describes what the referrer earns, not a fee discount for the new user.
- Compare: try our fee calculator to see what 1% costs on your trade size.
Safety and incidents
- Custody: BONKbot calls its Signer non-custodial. It says your private key is generated, encrypted and sealed in a secure execution environment that no one, including BONKbot, Telegram or a cloud vendor, can view or extract.
- Template checks: every transaction is checked against a template that you approved, and if it does not match exactly, it does not go through, according to the security page.
- 2FA: you can turn on two-factor authentication to protect withdrawals and seed phrase or private key exports. You can also turn off swap auto-approve, so token approvals need manual confirmation with 2FA (Security Config).
- Key export: the Signer page lists "2FA for seed phrase exports", so you can export your key and keep access outside the bot.
- MEV protection: BONKbot uses Jito. Turbo mode sends through Jito only when that is fastest; Secure mode always protects, even if slower (MEV protection). See MEV and sandwich attacks.
- March 2024 wallet drains: about 2,808 SOL (about $523,000 at the time) was taken from 302 wallets. BONKbot said the 113 victims who had used its bot had all exported their private keys, and it pointed to an unnamed app where the keys were imported. It said the bot itself was safe. Source: Decrypt.
- Hacks: we found no report of a hack of BONKbot's own systems that drained user funds.
- Fake bots and ads: BONKbot's scam guide warns about fake bots that ask you to deposit SOL, and says admins never DM first. It also says it does not control the ads shown in the bot, so be careful with ad links.
What this means for you: the 2024 case is a lesson about key reuse. If you export a bot key, do not import it into an app you have not checked.
Features (from the docs)
- Fast buys: paste a contract address or a pump.fun, DEX Screener, Birdeye or Meteora link, per the official site. Auto Buy buys at once, with no warning.
- Limit orders: Buy Dip, Buy Breakout, Take Profit, Stop Loss and trailing stop loss, per the limit orders page. See limit order.
- DCA: split a buy or sell into timed parts, with interval, count and slippage settings (DCA). See DCA.
- Sniping: the Nighthawk sniper takes a pump.fun contract address or a Meteora pool ID, with Precision and Speed modes. See sniping.
- Extra bots: Monza, Sonic, Furiosa, McQueen and Neo, which the docs say are "often faster than the main instance".
- Token Incinerator: special referral links send part of your fees (20% for new users) to buy and burn a token (Token Incinerator).
- Telemetry terminal: Turbo Mode with hotkeys, X-Ray, Discovery and a wallet tracker. Auto Strat take-profit and stop-loss presets work on Telemetry and in the Telegram bot. The Telemetry wallet page lists withdrawals as "coming soon".
Where other tools are better
- More chains: BONKbot is Solana only. BasedBot covers more networks in one bot. See the BasedBot review. Locke works with BasedBot; it is scored with the same methodology.
- Cashback inside Telegram: Trojan also charges 1%, but it pays SOL cashback on bot trades too. See the Trojan review and BasedBot vs Trojan.
- A web terminal with fee tiers: Axiom lowers its fee with volume and adds perps. See the Axiom review.
- Copy trading: we found no copy trading in BONKbot's Telegram docs. Compare the options in our best Telegram trading bots list.
