Key takeaways

  • BasedBot is the best copy trading bot on our scores (4.6), ahead of Trojan (4.1), Maestro (3.7), Banana Gun (3.7) and GMGN (3.5). Locke works with BasedBot; it is scored with the same methodology.
  • BasedBot copies wallets on eight networks from one bot, including Solana, Base, BNB Chain and Ethereum. Trojan copies on Solana only; Maestro copies on Solana and every EVM chain it supports.
  • In copy trading crypto, you always buy after the wallet you copy, so your price is worse. Set a max buy size and a sell rule before you copy any wallet.
  • Most copy trading bots here charge 1% per trade, so a copied buy and sell costs about 2% before network fees. Cashback cuts BasedBot to 0.5–0.9% per trade with our link.
  • Track a wallet for some time before you copy it, and start with a small amount: a wallet with many copiers can sell into their buys.

For copy trading crypto in 2026, the best bot on our scores is BasedBot (4.6), followed by Trojan (4.1), Maestro (3.7), Banana Gun (3.7) and GMGN (3.5). BasedBot ranks first because one bot copies wallets on eight networks, not on Solana only. If you copy only Solana wallets, Trojan is a strong second choice.

How copy trading works

Copy trading means a bot watches another wallet and repeats its trades in your wallet. You choose the wallet, the amount per trade and the limits. The bot does not copy the result: it copies the trade, a few blocks later, at the price that is live then.

  1. You paste a wallet address into the copy trading menu.
  2. The wallet you follow buys a token.
  3. Your bot sees the trade and sends the same buy for your set amount, if the token passes your filters.
  4. When the wallet sells, your bot sells too, if you turned on copy sells. Or your own take profit and stop loss close the trade first.

Each copied buy and each copied sell is a trade, so most bots here charge their fee twice per round trip.

How to copy trade with BasedBot

BasedBot's copy trading lives in the Telegram bot @based_eth_bot. The steps below follow the copy trading page (opens in a new tab) of the official docs. For the full bot setup, read our BasedBot tutorial.

  1. 1

Open the bot from an official link

Open BasedBot through basedbot.app/r/START or the button below, then type /start. The link applies code START, which doubles your cashback to 10–50%. The official handle is @based_eth_bot, per the setup guide (opens in a new tab).
  2. 2

    Fund the bot wallet

Tap your wallet address to copy it and send ETH, BNB or SOL on the correct network. Keep only the money you plan to copy trade with.
  3. 3

    Type /copytrading and enable networks

Enable the networks you want to copy on: BASE, BNB, ETH, ABSTRACT, SOL, AVAX, HYPE and TEMPO. Buys and sells toggle separately, so you can copy buys and manage the sells yourself.
  4. 4

Set the Copy Amount per network

Set the amount per copied buy on each network, and choose Exact Amount Mode or Percentage Mode.
  5. 5

Add the wallet under Followed Accounts

Paste the wallet address you want to copy. You can also open any wallet in the wallet monitor (opens in a new tab), check its statistics and add it to copy trading from there.
  6. 6

    Set your limits

Set buy and sell slippage, a minimum and maximum liquidity, a minimum and maximum trade amount of the followed wallet, and a Max Buy cap. Turn on Trade Once Per Token to stop repeat buys of the same token, and add a Delay in milliseconds if you need one.

Before you copy a wallet, watch it first. The wallet tracker (opens in a new tab) sends Buy, Sell and Token Creation alerts above a minimum USD amount, and shows value, cost basis and PnL per tracked wallet. BasedBot also has social copytrading (opens in a new tab): the bot buys a token when an account you follow on X, Warpcast or Zora posts it.

How to choose a copy trading bot

1. Chains you copy on

Good wallets do not trade on one chain only. If you want to copy trade Solana wallets and Base or BNB Chain wallets, a multi-chain bot keeps your funds and settings in one place. BasedBot lists eight copy networks. Maestro copies on every EVM chain it supports and on Solana. Trojan is Solana only. For Banana Gun and GMGN, check in app which chains their copy tools cover.

2. Copy settings

A Solana copy trading bot without limits copies every mistake of the leader. Look for:

  • A max buy cap, so one large leader trade does not empty your wallet.
  • Liquidity filters, so the bot skips tokens with thin pools.
  • Separate buy and sell toggles, so you can keep your own exit.
  • One buy per token, so the bot does not buy the same token again each time the leader adds.

BasedBot documents all four. Maestro limits the number of copied wallets: 5 per chain on the free tier and 12 with Premium, per its review.

3. Real fee per round trip

A copied trade pays the fee on the buy and again on the sell. At 1%, that is about 2% per round trip before network fees and priority fees. Cashback lowers it: 10–50% on BasedBot with our link, 20% on the Trojan bot and 15–30% on Maestro by volume tier. Run your numbers in the fee calculator, or compare codes on the BasedBot referral code, Trojan referral code and GMGN referral code pages.

4. Key export

A copy trading bot is a hot wallet. If you can export the private key, you can move your funds even if the bot goes down. BasedBot, Trojan and Maestro allow it. We found no key export guide in Banana Gun's docs, and GMGN's wallet docs (opens in a new tab) say export is prohibited.

5. Wallet research tools

You need to find good wallets before you copy them. GMGN is strong on smart money data and wallet radar; see the GMGN review and Axiom vs GMGN. Trojan has a wallet analyzer and tracker, Axiom tracks wallets and X accounts but has no documented copy trading, and BasedBot shows statistics and PnL per tracked wallet.

How to choose a wallet to copy

The wallet matters more than the bot. Use these checks before you copy any wallet.

  • Many tokens, not one win. A wallet with one large win on one token tells you little. Look at its record over many tokens and several weeks.
  • Hold time you can follow. If the wallet buys and sells in the same minute, your copy arrives late on both sides. Wallets that hold for hours or days are easier to copy.
  • Size that fits the pools. A whale can buy a token that has too little liquidity for your exit at a good price. Set a liquidity minimum in the bot.
  • Not an insider. Check that the wallet is not a dev wallet, a sniper or part of a bundle on the tokens it buys. Insider wallets win because they buy before the public, and you cannot copy that.
  • Not a famous wallet. A wallet that many people copy can buy a small token, wait for its copiers to push the price up and sell into them.
  • Track first, then copy small. Add the wallet to a wallet tracker for some days. Then copy it with a small amount and a Max Buy cap, and raise the size only when the copied trades work for you.

Risks of copy trading

  • You always buy later. The leader's buy moves the price before your copy lands. On memecoins this gap can be large, and slippage makes it larger.
  • Copiers are exit liquidity. A wallet can sell into the buys of its own copiers. This is why you set your own sell rule and do not depend on the leader's exit.
  • MEV and sandwich attacks. A copied buy with high slippage is an easy target for a sandwich attack. BasedBot's bot docs list MEV protection on ETH, Base and BSC; on Solana, keep slippage tight.
  • Rug pulls. The wallet you copy can buy a rug pull too. Your bot copies that buy. Liquidity filters and BasedBot's token blacklist reduce this risk.
  • Fees on many small trades. Copy trading creates many trades. At 1% per side, many small copies cost more in fees than they earn.
  • Fake bots and fake wallets. Scammers post "copy this wallet" offers and fake copy trading bots in Telegram groups. Open every bot from our official links, and never copy a wallet that a stranger sends you.
